About us
A pathway to communication, opportunity and connection
WFA Hearing Foundation is a non‑profit organisation committed to expanding access to hearing healthcare and improving the lives of children, adults, families and communities affected by hearing loss.
Our work is not limited to providing hearing devices. We help people identify hearing difficulties early, access appropriate care and technology, receive the support they need, and remain connected to their families, schools, workplaces and communities.
Our approach is inspired by community‑based hearing healthcare: bringing services closer to people, building local partnerships, and creating pathways for continued support.

What we do
Care that follows you from first screening to everyday life
Hearing Screening
Free and low-cost screening for children and adults, so hearing loss is caught early rather than years later.
Device Fitting
Professional assessment, ear impressions and hearing aid fittings, including Starkey Hearing Technologies devices.
Education & Awareness
Training for families, teachers and healthcare workers so hearing loss is recognised sooner in schools and clinics.

A quick, painless hearing check identifies whether there's a difficulty and how significant it is.

Diagnose
An audiologist reviews the results and talks through what they mean in plain language.

Fit & Treat
Where a hearing aid or other support is needed, we handle the ear impression, fitting and adjustment.

Follow Up
We check in as someone adjusts to their new hearing, and stay reachable for future care.

Who we are
Our team
Jimmy Tarimo
AudiologistAn experienced audiologist with over five years in hearing healthcare, specialising in assessments, ear impressions and hearing aid fittings representing Starkey Hearing Technologies. Holds an MSc in Clinical Audiology from the University of Spain and is pursuing further studies at Queen Margaret University, Scotland. Also serves as General Secretary of KASA Foundation, promoting hearing awareness across Tanzania.
Gloria Thadeus
Treasurer & FinanceResponsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial management and supporting effective financial planning. Contributes to maintaining financial accountability, proper record keeping, budgeting, and ensuring that financial resources are managed responsibly to support the organisation’s objectives.

Frequently asked questions
Common signs include asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the TV volume, difficulty following conversations in noisy places, or a child being slow to respond to sounds or speech. A hearing screening is the only way to know for certain.
No. Hearing loss can affect children and adults of any age, and can result from birth conditions, illness, injury, noise exposure or ageing.
